Armor Deactivate Gary Forbes Due to Injury

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Springfield Armor announced Friday that guard/forward Gary Forbes has been deactivated due to an injury and the team has claimed guard Larry Anderson from the available player pool.

Forbes, 28, was leading the team in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game over 11 games (10 starts) with the Armor. The 6-6 guard/forward had reached double figure scoring totals in eight consecutive games prior to the injury, including a season-high 33 points in a 108-107 loss at Texas on December 18. Forbes was ranked by the NBA Development League as the 15th-best prospect among league opponents, one of two Armor players ranked inside the top 30 (Willie Reed, #9).

In a corresponding move, Springfield has also claimed guard Larry Anderson from the available player pool. Anderson, 24, played four years of collegiate basketball at Long Beach State in California before playing the 2012-13 season professionally in Belgium. Anderson played 122 games (101 starts) with the 49ers, averaging 12.6 points per game throughout his collegiate career. The 6-5 guard ranked 17th in single-season steals after recording 53 his junior season despite missing six games due to a hand injury. Last season, Anderson played 15 games for Okapi Aalstar (Belgium-Ethias League ), averaging 10.0 points per game and connecting on 48.6 percent of his shots (36-74) from inside the arc.
