Arkansas Diamonds News Release
North Little Rock, AR - After two weeks to rest and prepare for the Corpus Christi Sharks, the Arkansas Twisters looked poised and confident to add another win to this already great season. Arkansas' defense started the night bringing the pressure to Corpus Christi's signal caller Sedale Threatt. Threatt broke free from Arkansas' pressure and scored the first touchdown of the game on a 27 yard scamper. Arkansas would answer with their first possession after just 5 plays and 45 yards capped off by a Kyle Rowley 2 yard pass to Aaron Fairooz. Taylor Rowan would miss the extra point attempt leaving Arkansas Trailing 7-6. On the second possession of the game Arkansas' defensive back Brandon Freeman causes and recovers a fumble by Corpus Christi wide receiver Jonathon Graham. Arkasas' defense kept the pressure on Corpus Christi's offense the entire first half causing 3 fumble, 2 of which were returned for touchdowns. Arkansas would take a 40-21 lead to the locker room at the half.
The second half Arkansas came out of the locker room with the same swagger as they did in the first half. On the fifth play of the second half, Kyle Rowley connected with Aaron Fairooz for his third touchdown catch of the game. Arkansas looked as if they were going to cruise to another victory until the turnovers began to swing the other direction. Corpus would come back to tie Arkansas at 47 with 9:54 left in the game. Arkansas would then respond on the next possession when Kyle Rowley connects for the fourth time to Aaron Fairooz.
