Chilliwack Bruins News Release

Chilliwack BC - June 5, 2007: The Chilliwack Bruins today completed a trade with the Edmonton Oil Kings. The Oil Kings acquire goaltender Alex Archibald and Bruins list player Tyler Halliday in lieu of Edmonton selecting a player from the Bruins unprotected list.

Archibald, 20, was acquired by Chilliwack during the Bruins expansion draft one year ago from the Prince Albert Raiders. As a Bruin, Archibald posted a record of 8-15-3-1 with a 3.71 GAA and a .880 save percentage. Archibald appeared in all five Bruins playoff games, posting a record of 1-3-1, with a 3.38 GAA and a .908 save percentage.

Halliday played last season with the Merritt Centennials of the BCHL and was formerly property of the Red Deer Rebels.

"Alex Archibald has the opportunity to go to Edmonton and compete for the starter's job," comments Bruins General Manager Darrell May. "We appreciate Alex's contributions to the Bruins this past season and wish both Alex and Tyler the best of success with the Oil Kings."
