CALGARY, ALBERTA - The Western Hockey League today announced it will hold an Expansion Draft for the League's newest member club, the Edmonton Oil Kings, on Tuesday, June 5, 2007.

The results of the Expansion Draft will be announced and posted on the League Website, www.whl.ca, by Tuesday evening.

The Edmonton Oil Kings will begin play in the upcoming 2007-08 WHL season

The Brandon Wheat Kings are limited to protecting only fifteen players aged 17 to 20, or sixteen players if they choose to protect three overagers. WHL clubs must submit their protected list by 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.

In recent years, Brandon has lost the likes of Stephane Lenoski (Chilliwack, 2006), Bryan Nathe (Everett, 2003) and Mark Ardelan (Vancouver, 2001).
