Victor Arano dominated through seven innings on Monday, as the Clearwater Threshers blanked the Brevard County Manatees 3-0 in a rain-shortened, seven-inning contest at Space Coast Stadium.

Arano (3-7) permitted only three hits and a walk on the way to earning his third consecutive victory. The 20-year old righty has surrendered only two runs total over his last four appearances - an ERA of 0.75 in his last 24 innings.

The Threshers (9-3) made the most of their five hits, stringing three of them together with two outs in the second to account for the game's only runs.

Manatees starter Eric Marzec (1-7) secured the first two outs of the second inning before Willians Astudillo was hit by a pitch.

Carlos Tocci followed by lining a single to center, and Mitch Walding got Clearwater on the board when he pulled a double to right to bring home both Astudillo and Tocci.

Chase Harris then shot a triple to the opposite field in right, his first three-bagger of the season, scoring Walding to make it 3-0 Threshers.

That would be more than enough for Arano.

The biggest threat for the Manatees (4-7) came in the third, when Jose Pena and Angel Ortega each singled. Both would advance a base when Chris McFarland struck out and a passed ball by Astudillo permitted the runners to move into scoring position. Arano then induced a pop out off the bat of Michael Ratterree to end the inning.

After rain had threatened throughout the duration of the game, conditions declined as the teams moved to the eighth, and the tarp was put on the field. The game would be called just over an hour later.

The Threshers took two of the three games at Brevard County, and look to keep rolling as they return home to host the Lakeland Flying Tigers on Dollar Tuesday presented by Regions Bank. First pitch is set for 7 p.m. with Ricardo Pinto (2-1) on the hill against Kevin Ziomek (5-6). The call can be heard live on the Threshers Broadcast Network starting at 6:45 p.m.
