JUPITER, Fla. - The Jupiter Hammerheads (4 - 8, 39 - 43) were defeated by the Bradenton Marauders (9 - 3, 41 - 41), 3 - 0, in the series finale at Roger Dean Stadium. Bradenton broke the scoreless tie in the top of the third and added insurance runs to their shut out with a two run blast in the top of the sixth. Jupiter's starting pitcher, Jarlin Garcia, suffered the loss.

In the first two innings of work, Garcia allowed two hits, but the defense behind him helped him out of both innings with a runner on base. In the second, the Hammerheads turned their first double play of the game, totaling three for the night. The next inning, the Marauders broke the scoreless tie by scoring one run off two hits. JaCoby Jones found the gap in right center field to score Chris Diaz from first.

In the fourth, Jupiter's defense turned another double play, retiring Harold Ramirez after hitting a single to center field. Garcia retired all three Marauders in the fifth with two fly outs to center field and a strikeout. After five complete innings, the game went into a lightening delay that lasted 24 minutes.

Bradenton added the two insurance runs in the first inning back from the delay with a home run over the right field wall. With Barrett Barnes on first, Erich Weiss took the third pitch he saw to put the Marauders up by three.

With three more innings to tie the game, the Hammerheads collected two hits and was issued one walk, not giving them enough to muster up momentum at the plate. In the eighth, Jupiter had the tying run at the plate when Cameron Flynn stepped into the box. With Justin Bohn on third and Harold Riggins on first, Flynn flew out to center field to end in the inning. In Flynn's two previous appearances at the plate, he was 2 for 2 with two singles.

The Hammerheads will continue their home stand on Tuesday, July 7, with a three game series against the Fort Myers Miracle. First pitch is scheduled for 6:25 p.m. To purchase tickets, please call (561) 630-1828 or visit RogerDeanStadium.com.
