AquaSox Present Pink at the Park, Welcome Jay Buhner, Honor Fans

EVERETT, Wash.- The Everett AquaSox return home for their final homestand of the year. The 2009 season has been very memorable and the Frogs plan to finish the season on a high note as they take on the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes and the Vancouver Canadians.

As summer comes to a close, fans can enjoy a warm giveaway on Saturday, August 29. The AquaSox will be giving away Fleece Blankets to the first 1,000 fans, presented by Sound Transit. For the car lover's out there, the AquaSox will be hosting their 1st annual Car Show. Various cars will be on display throughout the game as fans enter the ballpark. The final homestand will also begin with a spectacular fireworks show following the game, presented by Tulalip Resort Casino.

The final Sunday game of the season will feature the 1st annual Pink at the Park on August 30. The AquaSox will promote breast cancer awareness throughout the game. On the field the players will wear commemorative pink and white jerseys. The limited edition jerseys will be auctioned off after the game to support breast cancer awareness and local charities.

The AquaSox will also be partnering with Elle Marie Hair Studio - located in Bothell, Q13 FOX News anchor Bill Wixey and Q13 to host a Buzz Cut promotion to help raise funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society during Pink at the Park. Former Seattle Mariner Jay Buhner will also make a special guest appearance to help with the Buzz Cuts! Buhner will arrive at Everett Memorial stadium at 11:30 a.m. and stay until the game begins.

Suggested donation for a Buzz Cut will be $10 with all the proceeds going to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

As the calendar turns over to September, one AquaSox fan will literally drive away happy after the game on Wednesday, September 2. The AquaSox present the Key Dig, where one fan will have a chance to win AquaSox Athletic Trainer Spyder Webb's Saturn car!

The Year of the Frog will come to a close on Thursday, September 3. The last game of the season will feature Fan Appreciation Night. Fans will be honored with giveaways and surprises throughout the game. The AquaSox will then host the final fireworks show of the summer, presented by Tulalip Resort Casino.

Prior to Thursday's season finale, there will be a special live concert by Afraid of Figs beginning at 6 p.m."Afraid of Figs" is a band of talented musicians from previous bands. They share a serious work ethic, off the wall sense of humor, and love of performing. Influences include: Barenaked Ladies, Presidents of the USA, Cake, Ben Folds, and others.

With another baseball season coming to an end, the AquaSox would like to thank the fans for making the 2009 season one of the best in recent history!
