AquaSox Pitching Staff Dominates, 3-0

Everett, Wash. - AquaSox pitchers struck out a collective 18 Hops and allowed no runs; this combined with timely extra-base hits gave the Frogs the 3-0 victory.

HOW IT HAPPENED

The AquaSox struck quickly in the first; Zach DeLoach led off with a triple, crossing the plate when Austin Shenton grounded out two batters later. Julio Rodriguez started the fourth inning with a line-drive double to center field, scoring when Carter Bins hit a ground-rule double to right-center field, bringing the score to 2-0.

Bins doubled again the top of the seventh, advancing to third on a wild pitch and ultimately scoring the final run of the game on a passed ball.

WRAPPING IT UP

At the plate, Bins led the way, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, one RBI and one run scored. On the mound, LHP Brandon Williamson pitched four complete innings. In 67 pitches, he allowed only two hits, no walks and struck out nine. RHP David Ellingson pitched two innings, giving up one hit and walking one while striking out four. RHP Brendan McGuigan struck out three batters in two innings while RHP Jarod Bayless closed the game and secured the Frogs' victory. In total, the AquaSox pitching staff has struck out 68 batters in five games.

The Frogs return to Ron Tonkin Field on Sunday, May 9 at 1:05 p.m. for the final game in the series against the Hops. Tune in to the game on KRKO!
