ICYMI: Weston Wilson homered twice, including a game tying home run with two-outs in the ninth, but Brenden Davis of the Wood Ducks came through with a walk-off single in the bottom of the ninth as Down East defeated Carolina 5-4 on Saturday night at Grainger Stadium. Wilson's game tying home run came on a 2-2 pitch and with two outs in the ninth off reliever Jacob Shortslef. Wilson also homered to bring the Mudcats within one in the seventh and went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI in the game for Carolina.

ABOUT THE LAST ONE: Weston Wilson's solo home run with two-outs in the in the ninth last night was the first game tying home run hit by the Mudcats this season... Mudcats pitchers walked five batters in last night's loss, bringing their overall season total to a Minor League Baseball 119 this season... The Mudcats suffered their second straight walk-off loss this season. They have lost in walk-off fashion four times now this season (4/12, 4/14, 4/27, 4/28).

VS. WOODIES: The Mudcats and Wood Ducks conclude a three game series tonight at Grainger Stadium in Kinston. Tonight's game is the finale of the three game series and the third of 24 total meetings between the two teams this season... The Mudcats went 11-10 versus the Wood Ducks in 2017 and finished just 1.0 game back of Down East in the second half standings... Max McDowell hit .324/.452/.441 (11-for-34) with nine runs and six RBI over 11 games against the Wood Ducks last season... Trey Supak went 1-0 with a 1.13 ERA over two games and one start against Down East in 2017 (8.0 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 0 BB, 6 SO).

MUDCATS STARTER: Right-hander Trey Supak has the start for the Mudcats in today's series finale against the Down East Wood Ducks. Supak is currently 1-0 and has pitched to a 0.90 ERA over four starts and 20.0 innings so far this season. He has also totaled 18 strikeouts against eight walks and has held opponents to a .217 average against this season. Supak last started for the Mudcats on 4/22 vs. Buies Creek and pitched through the fifth with just one run allowed on five hits. Three of those hits were extra-base hits, but he ended up allowing just the one Buies Creek run while also walking one and striking out three.

OPP STARTER: Left-hander Christian Torres heads out for the start for the Wood Ducks in today's series finale. Torres is 1-2 with a 4.76 ERA, 17 strikeouts, four walks and 24 hits allowed over four games, three starts and 17.0 innings this season. He last pitched on 4/22 in Myrtle Beach and allowed eight runs (six earned) on 12 hits over 5.0 innings pitched.

STRUGGLING LATE: Mudcats pitchers have combined to pitch to a 7.63 ERA (17 R, 13 ER) in the ninth inning so far this season. They have also pitched to a 6.00 ERA in the eighth and a 4.70 ERA in the seventh. Opponents are also batting .290 in the ninth, .293 in the eighth and .241 in the seventh against the Mudcats this season.

P.O.W.: Ryan Aguilar was named the Carolina League Player of the Week for the week ending on April 22. Aguilar led the CL in AVG, OBP and OPS over the last week of games. In all, he went 8-for-15 with a double, a triple, four RBI and five walks while hitting .533/.667/.733 and totaling a 1.400 OPS over five games during the last week of play.
