Today the Mudcats look to salvage a game in their three game series with the visiting Salem Red Sox. The Mudcats have a lost a season high four straight games and are now three back of the first place Red Sox in the first half standings. Carolina has already lost its current series with the Red Sox and have gone 2-4 in their first homestand of the season. Newly awarded Carolina League Pitcher of the Week RHP Max Povse gets the start in today's series finale. Povse enters today's game at 1-0 and has pitched to a 0.00 ERA over two starts. Povse, a Green Hope High School alum, has struck out 14 this season, walked two and scattered just four hits in 13 innings pitched.
Today's game begins at 11:00 a.m. at Five County Stadium in Zebulon and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pregame show beginning at 10:45 a.m.
