Tonight the Mudcats go with the versatile RHP Zach Quintana for the series opening start against the Blue Rocks in Wilmington. Quintana was 5-5 last season with the Rome Braves as a starter. He also pitched to a 3.32 ERA as a starter and finished the year with 47 strikeouts against 21 walks over 84 innings pitched in the rotation. Overall, Quintana was 5-6 with three saves and a 3.25 ERA over 32 games, including 17 starts last season with Rome. He allowed only one home run last season and was tied for the fewest home runs allowed by a South Atlantic League pitcher with at least 110.0 innings pitched.
Today's doubleheader begins at 6:35 p.m. at Frawley Stadium in Wilmington, DE and will air on the Mudcats Radio Network with the pre game show beginning at 6:20 p.m.
