Angels Recall Francisco Rodriguez, Option Cassevah to Salt Lake

SALT LAKE CITY (April 14, 2010) - The Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim announced today that the club has recalled right-handed pitcher Francisco Rodriguez from Triple-A Salt Lake and optioned right-handed pitcher Bobby Cassevah to the Bees.

Rodriguez, 27, has appeared in two games of relief for the Bees in 2010, registering two strikeouts and allowing two earned runs in three innings of play. In 2009, the Mexicali, Mexico native owned a 5-4 record with a 3.96 ERA in 44 games (one start). His first appearance with the Angels will be his major league debut.

Cassevah, 24, made his major league debut with the Angels on April 9 against the Oakland A's, allowing one hit and no runs in just over two innings of play. In three games with the Angels this season, he allowed four earned runs with three strikeouts. The Jacksonville, Fla. native appeared in one game for Salt Lake prior to joining the Angels, pitching one inning of scoreless relief in the Bees season opener on April 8.

The Salt Lake Bees continue the 2010 season this afternoon at Reno and return home for an eight-game homestand on Friday, April 16 against the Tacoma Rainiers at 6:35 p.m. at Spring Mobile Ballpark.
