Angelle Named Pitcher of the Week

WICHITA, KS- Wichita Wingnuts' left-hander Kevin Angelle was named the American Association's Pitcher of the Week on Monday afternoon.

Angelle (pronounced ann-JELL) won both of his starts last week while pitching 12.1 scoreless innings. The 22-year old's first win came on Tuesday in the nightcap of a double header versus Sioux City in which he struck out five and allowed only three hits in 5.1 IP. Last night, Angelle led the Wingnuts to a 1-0 win at El Paso in the rubber match of a three-game series. The Bridge City, TX native fired seven more scoreless frames while notching four strikeouts. Angelle was signed by the Wingnuts on August 11th.

The Wingnuts open a three-game series tonight against the Fort Worth Cats at 7:05 p.m. Adam Cowart takes on left-hander Joel Kirsten.
