Playoff Tickets to Go on Sale on Tuesday

SHREVEPORT, La. - After a successful regular season at home concluded with a sweep of the Pensacola Pelicans on Sunday, the Shreveport-Bossier Captains have announced their postseason schedule as they try for the first championship in franchise history.

As the first-half winners in the South Division, the Captains will play Game 3, and if necessary Games 4 and 5, of the South Division Championship Series (best-of-5) at Fair Grounds Field. After starting on the road in either Grand Prairie or Pensacola in Games 1 and 2, the Captains will try to advance to the American Association Championship Series.

Game 3 will be Friday, September 3, at 7:05 p.m. If Game 4 is necessary, it will be on Saturday, September 4, at 2:05 p.m. A potential winner-take-all Game 5 would be Sunday, September 5, at 6:05 p.m.

Should the Captains advance to the Championship Series to face the North Division champion, they will host Games 1 and 2, scheduled for Tuesday, September 7 and Wednesday, September 8, both at 7:05 p.m.

Tickets for the playoff games will be on sale as of 10 a.m. on Tuesday, August 24. Prices for reserved seats are $6 in the first round and $7 in the second, while deck tables are $44 for four people in the first round and $48 in the second round. The increased prices were instituted to comply with American Association regulations. Captains' Club tickets will remain the same throughout the playoffs, at $30 per adult for the all-you-can-eat-and-drink buffet.

Fans can purchase their tickets at the Fair Grounds Field box office from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, or by calling 636-5555 during those hours.

The Shreveport-Bossier Captains finish the 2010 regular season with a six-game road trip, starting Tuesday night against the El Paso Diablos, with first pitch scheduled for 8:05 p.m. Central time. The Captains will next be at home for Game 3 of the South Division Championship Series, at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, September 3. All games are broadcast streaming live on ustream.tv.
