Sioux City 7, St. Paul 6

Sioux City SS Javier Brown hit a go-ahead two-run single in the top of the eighth to capture the lead for good in a see-saw game, and give the Explorers a 7-6 win over St. Paul. The scoring started early, when the Explorers got an RBI double from 1B Jacob Cruz in the first and two more tallies in the second. St. Paul then surged into the lead with a four-run third powered by a three-run homer by DH Ole Sheldon, and added on with a solo homer from RF Brent Krause an inning later. Sioux City evened the score in the sixth on a two-run triple by 3B Derek Schermerhorn, but fell behind again when St. Paul C Gerard Haran smacked a solo home run in the seventh. But Brown's homer proved to be the deciding blow, and relievers Mike Bille and Eddie Delacruz each pitched a scoreless inning to preserve the advantage.

Wichita 5, Fort Worth 0

Wichita starter Adam Cowart combined with the bullpen to toss a five-hit shutout and lead the Wingnuts to a 5-0 win over Fort Worth. Cowart earned his sixth win by pitching seven shutout innings before handing it over to reliever Dustin Pease. Offensively, the Wingnuts scored four times in the second inning, thanks in large part to a three-run triple by 3B Mike Bell. 2B Jorge Delgado added an insurance run with a solo homer in the ninth. Despite giving up the early four spot, Fort Worth starter Joel Kirsten rallied to last the full nine innings, allowing just five hits and only the Delgado homer over the final seven innings.

Lincoln at Sioux Falls (Postponed - Rain)

This game was postponed due to rain. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader beginning at 5:00 pm on August 24th.
