BOISE, Idaho - The Idaho Steelheads defeated the Colorado Eagles, 3-2, in overtime in Game 6 of their Western Conference Quarterfinals series. The win gave the Steelheads (#3 seed) a 4-2 series victory over the Eagles (#6 seed), and they will now advance to take on the Ontario Reign (#2 seed) in the Western Conference Semifinals.

Colorado got off to a quick start, scoring on the game's first shot just 57 seconds in. A couple of recent amateurs connected on the play, as Greg Gardner dug the puck out of the left corner and found Brock Nixon crashing the crease for a one-timer past Tyler Beskorowany.

Idaho tied the game at 13:45 following a turnover along the right wing in their offensive zone when Adrian Foster found Austin Smith behind the defense in the slot where he was able to beat Kyle Jones. But the Eagles countered with just over a minute left in the frame when Trent Daavettila put home a loose puck from the low slot to push his playoff-leading point total to 10.

The Steelheads dominated the third period, out-shooting the Eagles, 10-3, and Colorado nearly withstood the desperate barrage until Andrew Carroll deflected a power-play goal home with less than three minutes remaining in the frame.

For the third time in as many games in Idaho during the series, the contest took overtime to decide. But like the first instance, the Steelheads ended the game quickly when Chase Schaber sent a pass from behind the net to Carroll for the winning goal from the doorstep just 1:43 into the extra session.
