Tonight's Matchup: The San Francisco Bulls head into Game 4 of this Western Conference Quarterfinals matchup against the Alaska Aces, tonight at the Cow Palace, down two games to one.
Last night, the first home playoff game in Bulls history, the Aces proved to be too much to handle, defeating San Francisco 4-1. Alaska broke through first with two goals in the second period. They kept adding to their lead, scoring a third goal six minutes into the third period. Two minutes later the Bulls responded, getting on the board with a goal from Jordan Morrison, assisted by Peter Sivak and Christian Ouellet. That was all San Francisco could muster, however, as the Aces sealed the win with an empty net goal in the waning seconds. With the win Alaska now has a one game edge in this best-of-seven series.
Morrison's goal was his sixth career professional playoff goal, and his 11th point. He was a steady contributor for the club during the regular season. He appeared in more games (70) than any player on the Bulls roster, and compiled 16 goals and 25 assists. A few days after making history with the first shutout in team history in Game 2, Thomas Heemskerk had a solid outing. He was peppered with shots early and often, finishing the game with 30 saves on 33 shots.
After tonight's matchup the series will continue with Game 5 tomorrow at 7:15 back at the Cow Palace. It will be the final home game for San Francisco in the series, as the squad looks to push the series back to Alaska. Call (855) SF-BULLS for tickets.
If necessary, Game 6 and 7 will take place on April 16 and 17 in Alaska, both at 8:15.
