Johnstown Chiefs News Release

Johnstown, PA (January 24) - Another Johnstown Chiefs defenseman has earned a promotion.

Doug Andress, 26, was recalled to the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights of the AHL. Andress, 6'2 and 210 pounds, will be available for the Knights contest at Cleveland, Wednesday night.

Andress's offensive production over the past month was a major factor in the recall. This season, Andress has two goals and 18 assists. He set a team high with five assists in the 7-4 win over Columbia on New Years Eve. Andress also picked up one goal, including the game winner, and three assists in last Wednesday's win over Reading.

In his last 11 games, Andress has 12 points, including 10 assists. Both of his goals were game winners.

Andress played four years at Ohio State before joining the ECHL's South Carolina Stingrays last year. He also spent time last season with the Toledo Storm.

Andress, from Iroquois Falls, Ontario, is the third Chiefs defenseman to be recalled this month. Mike Egener and Gerard Dicaire were recalled ten days ago.

The Johnstown Chiefs 2005-06 season presented by First National Bank of Pennsylvania resumes Friday in Dayton. Hear the action on the Chiefs radio network (850-AM & 990-AM), JohnstownChiefs.com, and on B2now.com.
