Alexandria Blue Anchors News Release

Alexandria, Minn. - The Alexandria Blue Anchors fell to the Duluth Huskies Friday night, losing by a final score of 12-2.

The pitching was great early on both sides, however, Jordan Lee would have something to say about that has he sent his eighth home run of the season over the right field fence to give the Anchors a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth.

In the bottom of the sixth, Aaron Gretz would double the Anchors lead with a sacrifice fly to center. It would be 2-0 Alexandria entering the top of the seventh.

Sean Stutzman had a chance to turn two in the top of the eighth and continue a phenomenal start in which he retired the first two batters in each of his first seven innings, unfortunately, he would throw the ball away at second base and the inning would spiral downward after that. The Huskies scored seven runs after that play thanks to another error from the Anchors and a combination of five hits from Duluth batters. The score would be 7-2 Huskies entering the bottom of the eighth.

The Anchors had another rough top of the ninth as Duluth tacked on five more runs from a team contribution of hits and walks. The Anchors would go down in order in the bottom of the ninth and would lose by a final of 12-2.
