Kenosha Kingfish News Release

Madison, WI - In the final game against the Madison Mallards in the two game series and for the year, the Kingfish fell 4-3 after a late and rainy start.

The Kingfish found themselves down early after failing to score with the bases loaded in the second, while Madison scored one run respectively in the second, third and fourth.

Duffy Dyer's team would fight back though and tie the game in the top of the fourth thanks to a leadoff single from Buddy Reed and a walk from Alex Dunlap. Thursday night's hero set up a wild pitch to score Reed and cut the lead to one. Steven Sensley then grounded out to score Dunlap and tie the game at two apiece.

Even with the six errors on Madison's part, the Kingfish could not produce any more runs beyond three. The Kingfish tied the game 3-3 in the sixth with Kyle Brooks driving in Dunlap for the run.

The Mallards scored three runs off of Kingfish starter Rex Morrow. Morrow pitched into the fourth and gave way to reliever Justin Peters. Peters went three innings, giving up just two hits but allowed the game-winning run to score in the seventh.

Despite the loss, the Kingfish still sit second in the second half, over the Wisconsin Woodchucks. The Kingfish play the Woodchucks starting tomorrow for a pivotal, two game series.

Following the Woodchucks series, King Elvis' crew return to Kenosha on Monday, August 4th to battle the Green Bay Bullfrogs. The night will be a doubleheader with the first game a continuation of a previously delayed affair. The game will resume in the 10th inning. It will start at 5:30 p.m., gates will open at 4:30 p.m. The second game will start no earlier than 7:05 p.m. and will be a complete nine inning contest.
