BAKERSFIELD, California – Jamie Cooke, Jason Ralph, and Christian Skoryna all scored twice as the Condors had three power play goals and two shorthanded in a 7-1 throttling of the Aces Friday at Centennial Garden.

Cooke scored twice in the first 3:21 of action, the second coming on a breakaway to give Bakersfield the early 2-0 edge. Paul Rosebush found Nate Anderson for another breakaway at 13:47 to increase the lead to 3-0 after the opening 20 minutes. Ralph scored on both a Bakersfield and an Anchorage power play at 6:45 and 9:18 of the middle frame to end the competitive phase of the contest. Skoryna converted another Condor power play at 15:16 to build the margin to 6-0 before Yvan Corbin finally put the Aces on the board 29 seconds later. With 23 goals, Corbin trails only Idaho's Marty Flichel in the WCHL goal-scoring race.

Skoryna's second of the night 3:49 into the final period (shorthanded) accounted for the final score as Anchorage tied the league's single-season record for consecutive defeats with 11, a number matched by the now-defunct Tucson Gila Monsters during the 1997-98 campaign. The Aces (10-32-2) were outshot 23-7 over the final 20 minutes by Bakersfield (23-13-7), which has now beaten Anchorage twice in a row after losing the first five meetings of this season. A game Christian Soucy turned in a season-high 49 saves as Anchorage surrendered a season-worst 56 shots on goal.
