
Ams Sweep Home-And-Home Weekend against Winterhawks in Overtime

Tri-City Americans News Release
After making a late comeback against Portland last night at the Toyota Center last night, the Americans defeated the Winterhawks 4-3 in overtime tonight in Portland. The victory is Tri-City's third straight overtime win.
Mirroring last night, the game was scoreless until Portland's Joachim Blichfeld opened scoring in the second period. Tri-City responded with a goal from each Kyle Olson and Riley Sawchuk to take the lead. Only 53 seconds later Ryan Hughes scored for Portland to end the second period tied at two.
Sawchuk scored his second goal of the night at 12:58 third period giving Tri-City a 3-2 lead.
Last night Nolan Yaremko tied the game for Tri-City with only 10 seconds left. Tonight it was Portland's Jared Freadrich tying the game and sending us to overtime with only 34 seconds remaining.
Wow.

Aaron Hyman, last night's overtime hero, took a tripping penalty with 3:20 remaining in overtime. Anaheim Ducks prospect Kyle Olson stepped up and scored his second goal of the night shorthanded to steal the extra point for Tri-City.
Tri-City out shot Portland 36-34 tonight.
