Americans Start Big Weekend in Missouri Tonight

Kansas City, Missouri - The Allen Americans open a three-game weekend in the state of Missouri, starting tonight against the Missouri Mavericks at 7:05 pm. The Americans will travel to St. Louis after the game and play two against the St. Charles Chill on Saturday night and Sunday afternoon.
The Americans are tied for the longest winning streak in the league right now at five games. Allen defeated the Missouri Mavericks 4-1 at Independence Events Center on February 25 th,on a night where Bryan Pitton shut down the high-powered Missouri Mavericks offense.
"He was unbelievable that night," said Americans forward, Johnathan Lessard. "How he was not voted one of the three stars of the game is pretty shocking." Pitton slammed the door time after time, robbing both Missouri forwards, Evan Vossen and Sebastien Thinel, on what looked to be sure goals from point-blank range.
Speaking of Johnathan Lessard, the Americans forward was named the Central Hockey League's Player of the Week on Monday for his outstanding play of late. Lessard had two goals in the Americans 6-4 win over Arizona last Friday night and is second on the team in goals, three behind team leader and linemate Alex Lavoie.
Bryan Pitton has won his last five starts in net for Allen, and is expected to get the call tonight when the Americans face off against Missouri at 7:05 pm. The Americans trail the Missouri Mavericks by eight points in the standings, but have a game in hand.
Ben Power has switched numbers again for Allen, now wearing jersey #17. Power has the third longest point streak on the team at seven games. He also had two goals in his last outing, and now has 6 goals in 8 games this season.
