Americans Split with KC, Lose 6-1

Allen Americans News Release
Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the San Jose Sharks, lost to the Kansas City Mavericks 6-1 on Saturday night at Allen Event Center.
Kansas City built a 5-0 lead after two periods of play scoring two in the first period and three in the second. Shawn Pauly scored two goals for the victorious Mavericks, to earn the number one star of the game. Tyler Parsons stopped 27 of 28 Americans shots to pick up the win.
Casey Pierro-Zabotel had the only Americans goal, his 19th of the season, which was his 500th career point. Alex Guptill had his team-high, 10-game point streak snapped. Allen went 1 for 6 on the power play, while Kansas City was 2 for 8.
The Americans return to action next Wednesday night at 7:05 pm against the Wichita Thunder. Allen will play five of their last six game at home.
