Rochester Americans News Release

(Rochester, NY)... The Rochester Americans announced today that the team will again partner with Morgan Stanley this season to present the Player of the Month Award program.

"The Rochester Americans have been a fixture in our community for 54 years and the changes that team has made have moved the team from the bottom of the league to among the top," said Richard Spencer, Senior Vice President of Morgan Stanley. "The fact remains that the players, coaches and staff at the organization are 100 percent committed to delivering again -- a winning team. We are happy to support the team by again sponsoring the Player of the Month award. Hopefully, in a small way, we are helping to rebuild the proud heritage the Amerks have always possessed. I ask my friends and fellow hockey fans to join me in this effort. The ownership has shown it's commitment to the team, and now it's the fans' turn."

"We appreciate Morgan Stanley coming forward to sponsor an Amerks Player of the Month luncheon again this year," said Amerks President Lewis Staats. "We appreciated the support last season and continue to thank the businesses in Rochester who choose to do business with us. The team is playing better this year and with the continued support of Rich and others like him we will strive to build another championship team in Rochester."

In its second season, the sixth-month long program awards players for their outstanding performances each month throughout the 2009-10 American Hockey League season. The team will present the winner with a plaque honoring their achievements as the recipient of the Morgan Stanley Player of the Month.

The first luncheon this season is scheduled for Tuesday, December 15th at 12:30 p.m. at the Monroe Golf Club where the winners for the months of October and November will be honored.
