Allen Americans News Release

Allen, Texas -- The Allen Americans and Wichita Thunder open a weekend set tonight at Allen Event Center. Puck drop is at 7:05 PM.

Allen enters tonight's contest four points behind division leading Colorado, with both teams having played 61 games. Colorado is in Utah tonight, another team fighting for positioning in the division. Utah is four points behind fourth place Alaska, with both teams fighting for that final playoff spot in the division, and both teams having played 61 games.

Greger Hanson enters tonight's game on a season-high ten-game point streak for Allen. Seven of the ten games have been multi-point games for the Swedish-born forward. Hanson also has a current assist streak at nine games.

"It's a big weekend for us," said Greger Hanson. "Not only because we need the points, but it's also important to start finding chemistry with the lines and start playing the right way with playoffs looming. Every game is an opportunity to get a little bit better and more prepared for playoffs."

Changes to the Allen lineup tonight include; no Spencer Asuchak, who was loaned to Providence earlier this week. Asuchak was Allen's third leading scorer, having a career year with 25 goals and 61 points. Allen will have two new forwards in the lineup soon, with both Alex Krushelnyski and Tyler Barnes on the way, but neither are expected in the lineup this weekend.

The Americans come home after sweeping the five-game road trip. The club has won a season-best, eight straight road games. The last home game for Allen was back on February 19th against Rapid City. Tickets for this weekend's games are on sale NOW at Allen Event Center Box Office or online at www.ticketmaster.com. Call 972-912-1000 for more information.
