
Mallards Sign Northern Michigan Captain Sooth

MOLINE, Ill. - The Quad City Mallards have signed forward Shane Sooth to a standard player contract, t he Mallards announced today.
Sooth, 24, joins the Mallards after serving as team captain at Northern Michigan University each of the last two seasons. The 6-foot-1, 221-pound Canyon Country, California, native scored five goals and added five assists for ten points in 19 games as a Wildcat senior this season. Sooth produced 21 goals, 40 assists and 61 points in 130 games over four his four years at NMU.
Before heading to Northern Michigan, Sooth spent five seasons in the junior ranks. Sooth helped the Dubuque Fighting Saints to two United States Hockey League titles (in 2010-11 and 2012-13) in three years with the club after dividing his first two junior seasons among the Sioux City Musketeers of the USHL and the United States National Team Development Program Under-18 Team and the Texas Tornado in the North American Hockey League
The Mallards return to action on home ice tonight at 7:05 p.m. against the Missouri Mavericks. The Mallards will wear special edition baseball-style jerseys in that game. Those jerseys will go up for bid immediately after that game in a live auction presented by KWQC-TV6 to benefit the Genesis Health Services Foundation. This evening also brings the return of $2 Dog/$2 Beer Night presented by 97X. Fans can enjoy $2 hot dogs and beers from iWireless Center concession stands during every Friday Mallards home game. In addition, the Mallards have once again this season partnered with Metro to provide transit service between Augustana College and downtown Moline during all Friday home games. As part of Metro's unlimited ride program, Augustana riders can use their Augustana ID as their fare.
Single game tickets for all Mallards regular season home games- including tonight's game- are on sale now at the iWireless Center box office, Ticketmaster outlets, ticketmaster.com and Ticketmaster charge-by-phone toll free at 1-800-745-3000. The box office is open weekdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
