
Americans Announce Tentative 2009-10 Regular Season Schedule

KENNEWICK, WA - The Tri-City Americans announced today their tentative regular season schedule for the upcoming 2009-10 season, their 22nd season in the Mid-Columbia.
For the second consecutive season, the Americans will start the season at home, as Tri-City will host the Kelowna Rockets at the Toyota Center on Saturday, Sept. 19. Game time is 7:05 pm. Tri-City will also raise their second straight U.S. Division banner on this night.
"We are very pleased with the way our schedule shaped up this season," commented Americans' General Manager Bob Tory. "This year's schedule is fairly balanced from month to month and our travel schedule is not unbearable. Overall, I feel it puts us in position for a good year, both on the business side and the hockey side."
The regular season will conclude on Saturday, March 13 against the Spokane Chiefs. Of the 24 weekend home games, Tri-City will play 11 on Friday, 9 on Saturday and 4 on Sunday.
In division play, the Americans will go head-to-head with the rival Spokane Chiefs 12 times (six home and six away). Tri-City will also play the Seattle Thunderbirds and Portland Winter Hawks 10 times a piece, while facing off against the Everett Silvertips eight times. Tri-City will play the rest of the Western Conference, including Chilliwack, Kamloops, Kelowna, Prince George and Vancouver four times (two home, two away) each.
This year's schedule has Tri-City hosting all six East Division opponents (Brandon, Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina, Saskatoon and Swift Current) throughout the season. Meanwhile, the Americans' trip through the Central Division is broken up into two separate trips, as they play in Medicine Hat, Lethbridge and Kootenay starting Wednesday, Nov. 11 through Saturday, Nov. 14. They will conclude their Central Division swing in late January, as they play in Red Deer, Edmonton and Calgary on Jan. 27, 29 and 31.

24 weekend home games 16 game before Christmas, 20 games after 21st Annual New Years Eve game on Thursday, Dec. 31 vs. Spokane Chiefs 4 Sunday dates, including Valentine's Day, featuring an opportunity to skate with the Americans following the game

The tentative schedule can now be found on the Americans' website, www.AmsHockey.com. The Western Hockey league plans to announce the complete, finalized 2009-10 League Schedule on Monday, August 10.
Tickets for individual games are scheduled to go on sale to the public on Tuesday, September 1st at 10:00 am; however the date is subject to change. Ticket packages for the 2009-10 season are on sale now at the Americans office by contacting an Account Executive at (509) 736-0606.
