Americans Add Big and Tough Forward Jacob Doty, Motte Recalled by Iowa

Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans, ECHL affiliate of the Minnesota Wild, announced today the club has signed forward Jacob Doty to a contract for the 2018-2019 season.

Jacob Doty is a 6-foot-4 and 225-pound forward, born in Denver, Colorado in 1993. He spent the last two seasons playing in Europe with the Braehead Clan and Nottingham Panthers of the EIHL. Last season with Braehead he had 35 points in 56 games while adding 157 penalty minutes.

"Everyone knows that Jacob Doty is one of the toughest players in pro hockey," said Americans Head Coach Steve Martinson. "Last year his career high 16 goals, which was third on the team reflects his ability to help his team win games."

With the signing of Jacob Doty today the Americans have released forward Christophe Lalancette.

Doty will join the team for their upcoming three-game trip to Salt Lake City. The Americans ended their long losing streak last night in Tulsa with a 2-0 shutout win.

In another transaction today, the Iowa Wild have recalled goalie CJ Motte from the Americans. He's is coming off a 2-0-win last night over Tulsa, his second shutout of the year. Motte is 4-6-2 so far this season with a .912 save percentage in 12 games.

The Americans will return home to face the Wichita Thunder on November 30th.
