
Admirals Acquire Avery Peterson; Announce Additional Roster Move

NORFOLK, VA - The Norfolk Admirals, ECHL affiliate of the Arizona Coyotes, announced Sunday that the team has acquired forward Avery Peterson from the Idaho Steelheads in exchange for future considerations. In addition, forward Kevin Klima was recalled by the Tucson Roadrunners and was later released by Tucson from his American Hockey League contract.
Peterson, 23, was scoreless in two contests with the Steelheads this season. The 6-3. 215-pound forward won an NCAA National Championship last season with the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Peterson wrapped up his two seasons with the Bulldogs where totaling 26 points (13g, 13a) in 55 games played from 2016-2018. Peterson also registered 22 points in two collegiate seasons at the University of Nebraska-Omaha from 2014-2016.
In 2014, the Grand Rapids, Minnesota native was the recipient of the USHS Mr. Hockey Award which is given to the best Minnesota high school hockey player. Peterson was selected by the Minnesota Wild in the sixth-round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
