St. Paul 7, Sioux City 5
St. Paul LF Josh Alley went a perfect 3-for-3 and hit a game-winning RBI double in the bottom of the eighth to push St. Paul to a 7-5 win over Sioux City. With the game deadlocked at 5-5, Saints SS Steve Butler drew a one-out walk and scored on Alley's double to left field, before Alley scored an insurance run on a sacrifice fly by 2B Brandon Carter. The Saints fell behind 5-2, but scored three times in the seventh and the go-ahead two tallies in the eighth to break a six-game losing skid. Sioux City starter Chad Povich earned a no decision despite surrendering just two runs in six innings.
Wichita 11, Lincoln 7
Wichita got RBIs from eight different hitters and took the lead with a four-run seventh to overcome a two-homer night by Lincoln 3B Juan Richardson and beat the Saltdogs 11-7. Wichita 3B Mike Bell's three RBI paced a Wingnuts offense that got multiple-hit contributions from six different hitters and an RBI from all but one starter. The balanced attack overcame four Lincoln home runs, including two by Richardson and one by each CF Gavin Dickey and SS Albenis Machado. Wichita SS Josh Horn hit his second home run of the season and scored three times in the win. Wingnuts starter Bubba ODonnell improved to 2-0 despite allowing five runs in six innings, and three relievers allowed just one earned run over the final three frames.
Shreveport-Bossier 6, Pensacola 5 (11 innings)
The Captains scored a walk-off win when a sacrifice bunt by RF Bryan Sabatella plated C Brian Peterson thanks to an error by Pensacola 1B Chris Chiarappa. The 11th inning tally broke a 5-5 tie and erased memories of a two-run Pensacola ninth that sent the game into extra innings. The Captains had built a 5-3 lead on LF Palmer Karr Jr.'s 13th home run of the season in the sixth, but Pensacola LF Marcos Rodriguez and SS Dallas Christison smacked back-to-back RBI hits. But in extra frames, Shreveport-Bossier reliever Justin Young pitched two hitless innings and paved the way for the run-scoring rally in the bottom of the 11th.
