A solid outing by Fort Worth starting pitcher Jae Jung leads the Cats to victory over the Shreveport-Bossier Captains. Jung went six innings and allowed one earned run on six hits with a strikeout. With the victory, Jung is now 6-3 on the year. Fort Worth 2B Isa Garcia went 3-for-4 at the plate with a double while C Kelley Gulledge had a 1-for-2 night with two runs scored. Captains DH Jose Torres went 1-for-4 and scored two runs in the losing effort.

Wichita 12, Lincoln 2

After falling behind 1-0 after four innings, Wichita plated eight big runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth to go up 9-1 and would roll to a 12-2 victory over the Lincoln Saltdogs. The league's Batter of the Week, LF Greg Porter, had another solid game at the plate going 4-for-6 with a double, a run scored and three RBI. Wingnuts C Joe Muich chipped in with a three-hit night and scored a run. Wichita starting pitcher Brad Davis easily won his eighth game of the season. Davis went five innings and allowed an earned run on six hits with a strikeout.

El Paso 4, Sioux City 3

El Paso plated two runs in the top of the eighth inning to overcome a 3-2 deficit and beat Sioux City, 4-3. Diablos 1B Jerry Verastegui led the offense going 3-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. El Paso starter Justin Mallett notched his fifth win of the year. The league's Pitcher of the Week allowed three earned runs on eight hits with 10 strikeouts in 7 2/3 innings of work. 2B Alex Llanos and 1B Jason Colson each had two hits for the Explorers.

Pensacola 11, Grand Prairie 10 (11 innings)

After Grand Prairie scored three runs in the top of the 11th inning to take a 10-7 lead, the Pensacola Pelicans rallied for four in the bottom of the frame to stun the AirHogs, 11-10. Pelicans DH Chase Burch went 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI while SS Dallas Christison had a two-hit night with two runs scored and two RBI. Pensacola reliever Tyler Wilson won his fourth game of the season despite giving up three earned runs on four hits in two innings of work. Grand Prairie DH Chad Gabriel went 5-for-6 with a home run and four runs driven in.
