St. Paul 12, Sioux Falls 6

The St. Paul Saints plated three runs in the second, fourth and seventh inning, leading them to a 12-6 victory against the Sioux Falls Pheasants. Eight Saints had at least one hit, and seven Saints drove in at least one run. St. Paul RF Brandon Tripp had three hits in five at-bats and two RBIs. Center fielder Jonathan Van Every chipped in with two hits in four at-bats, including a solo homerun in the second inning. He also had two RBIs and scored three times. The Pheasants cut the deficit in half in the top of the seventh when center fielder Reggie Abercrombie's single drove in two, making the score 8-4. The Saints responded in the bottom half of the inning with three runs of their own, including 3B Justin Snyder's two-RBI single.

Winnipeg 5, Fargo-Moorhead 2

After just three innings, the Winnipeg Goldeyes had scored four runs and held a 4-1 lead that they did not relinquish, earning a 5-2 win against the Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks. Goldeyes DH Luis Allen doubled in the bottom of the first, driving in a run and helping Winnipeg gain an early lead. Allen finished the game with two hits in four at-bats and three RBIs. Winnipeg 1B Brian Myrow and SS Price Kendall each picked up an RBI as well. For the RedHawks 1B Jesse Hoorelbeke belted a solo homerun, and C Phil Britton picked up his third RBI of the season. Winnipeg starter Chris Salamida earned the win, striking out six batters in five innings, while only surrendering five hits and two earned runs.

Sioux City 3, Ft. Worth 2

The Sioux City Explorers battled back from a 2-1 deficit, scoring two unanswered runs to capture a 3-2 win against the Ft. Worth Cats. The Explorers struck first, scoring one run in the top of the second. Cats CF Brian Fryer singled in the bottom of the third, driving in a run and leveling the score. First baseman Trent Lockwood then gave the Cats a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the fourth with an RBI single. The Explorers fought back, tying the score in the top of the sixth on a sacrifice fly from 3B Wally Backman. In the top of the ninth, Sioux City broke the deadlock when 2B Mike Murphy singled in the go-ahead run. Right-hander Emiliano Fruto worked a 1-2-3 bottom of the ninth to close out the game, earn the save, and preserve the 3-2 Sioux City win.
