Sioux Falls 8, Winnipeg 4
With the score tied 2-2, the Sioux Falls Canaries scored five runs in the top of the eigth inning to claim their seventh win by an 8-4 final over the Winnipeg Goldeyes. An RBI single from DH David Bergin followed by a two RBI double from C Cameron Garfield set the stage for 2B Frank Martinez who hit a two-run homer, his third of the year.
Canaries' reliever Jimmer Kennedy earned the win in relief throwing a scoreless seventh inning. For Sioux Falls, 1B Taylor Zeutenhorst led the way going 3-for-5 with two runs scored as the Canaries outhit Winnipeg 12-7.
The Goldeyes were paced at the plate by SS Maikol Gonzalez and C Carlton Tanabe who each had two hits. Starter Edwin Carl also had an excellent performance on the mound throwing seven strong innings, while allowing just two earned runs on five hits.
