Amarillo releases three, NHL talent joins tomorrow

AMARILLO, TX - The Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League (CHL) have released three players from their training camp roster today but will announce the newest member of the Amarillo Gorillas tomorrow at a special press conference to be held at noon at the Ape Escape within the Civic Center. Gorillas Head Coach Jim Wiley announced today that forwards Todd Taylor, Ben Kemp and Ryan Costanzo have all been placed on waivers today. Costanzo, a 6'0", 207 pound forward from Montrose, British Columbia, recorded 2 assists in 3 preseason games while registering a -3 rating. Kemp recorded one assist in 3 preseason contests and finished the preseason with a -2 +/- rating. Todd Taylor, a forward out of St. Johns, Newfoundland, didn't register a point in 3 preseason games and closed out the preseason with the team's lowest +/- rating at -4.

The three cuts bring the Gorillas roster down to 21 for now. But Amarillo's player total will jump to 22 tomorrow when the team announces its newest incoming player. A press conference will be held tomorrow (Tuesday Oct. 17th) at noon at the Ape Escape (Hospitality Room) inside the Civic Center to announce an incoming player with a significant amount of NHL experience. All media are encouraged to attend and the press conference will be open to the public. A press release including all the player's biographical information and career statistics will be made available at tomorrow's conference.

Season ticket packages and corporate partnerships for the 2006-2007 season are available now! Individual game tickets, once they go on sale, can be purchased at the Gorillas Hockey Office, located at 1934 Civic Circle off of I-40 and Georgia, the Civic Center Box Office and all Panhandle Ticket Outlets.
