Mississippi RiverKings News Release
SOUTHAVEN --- Memphis RiverKings Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations Kevin McClelland announced today that the team has placed forward Chad Wilcox on waivers. This stands as the first cut made from the RiverKings' training camp roster.
The team needs to get down to the CHL-mandated 18 players on Thursday. The RiverKings open the regular season on Friday night versus the Youngstown Steelhounds at the DeSoto Civic Center at 7:05.
Wilcox, 6-2, 220 lbs, was signed by the team this summer after playing with Flint (UHL) and Thetford Mines Prolab (LNAH) last season. He played in both of the RiverKings' preseason games, did not score and finished with 22 penalty minutes.
The RiverKings defeated Wichita in both preseason games over the weekend and will skate each day through Thursday of this week at 10 a.m. at the DCC.
