Alu Delivers Pinch-Hit Walk-Off Double
May 29, 2022 - Eastern League (EL)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
For the second straight game, the Senators walked off the Altoona Curve winning Sunday afternoon 5-4. Jake Alu was the hero Sunday, driving in Mitch Longo and Justin Connell with a pinch hit two-out two-run double. Altoona had scored two times in the eighth inning, turning a 3-2 Sens lead into a 4-3 Curve lead, and setting the stage for Alu's heroics.
Luis Reyes started and went four innings allowing two runs on five hits. Francys Peguero was solid in his two innings of work followed by a perfect frame by Alex Troop. Reid Schaller allowed a pair of runs in the eighth but became the winner with a scoreless ninth and the Sens rally.
No Senator hitter had two hits in the game. Ehire Adrianza homered to lead off the bottom of the first. Brady Lindsly had a run scoring pinch hit double in the sixth to tie the game. KJ Harrison doubled in the seventh to score Dondrei Hubbard with the go ahead run. Wilson Garcia doubled in the ninth with one out to set the stage for Alu.
After not having a walk-off win through 42 games, the Senators have won each of the last two games in their final at bat. The Sens didn't commit an error for the 24th game this year. Over half their games have been errorless defensively.
