Montreal, April 25, 2002 - The Montreal Alouettes have always trusted their local talent and the team proved it again today making Montrelaer Patrick Dorvelus, a cornerback from Hofstra University, their first pick, fifth overall, in the Canadian College Draft held today in a conference call.

"We're thrilled to have been able to select a talented Montrealer in the first round," said Alouettes' General Manager Jim Popp. "Our objectives have always been to draft the best players available and we are confident that Patrick Dorvelus and all the players that we have drafted today can contribute to our success."

Of the Alouettes' six draft picks, three are offensive linemen. Here's a glimpse at the Alouettes' 2002 draft.
