Allen, Texas- The Allen Americans play three games against Berry Conference opponents this week, beginning Tuesday night at Tulsa. The Americans own the top record in the CHL at 16-5-5, two points ahead of second place Wichita.

Americans 6 Rio Grande Valley 1

Brett Clouthier had a goal and a helper in a seven minute span in the opening period to lead the Allen Americans to a 6-1 win over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees, on Sunday evening. Jim McKenzie scored two goals for Allen, while starting netminder Marco Cousineau stopped 18 of 19 shots in front of the biggest home crowd of the season (4,936), at the Allen Event Center.

Wednesday, December 21st

Rio Grande Valley 4 Americans 3 SO

Jarret Lukin and Bruce Graham scored two late third period goals one minute and twenty seven seconds apart to send the game to overtime, however the Bees would prevail in a shootout 4-3. Mark Magnowski had two goals for Rio Grande Valley to lead the charge. It was the second meeting in a row between the two teams. The Killer Bees are yet to beat the Americans in regulation this season.

Friday, December 23rd

Americans 7 Rio Grande Valley 3

Seven different Americans scored a goal as the Americans downed the Bees 7-3. Bruce Graham, Nick Layton, Colton Yellow Horn, Lachlan MacIntosh, Keith Johnson, Jim McKenzie and Brian McMillin all lit the lamp. With the win, the Americans guaranteed themselves no less than a tie for the top spot in the Berry Conference at the Christmas break.
