Tuesday, December 27 - Dayton Gems @ Evansville IceMen, 8:15pm EST (Ford Center)

Notes: The Gems look to earn their first victory of the season over the offensively charged IceMen, after falling in their four prior attempts. Tuesday marks the third trip to the brand new Ford Center for the Gems, most recently back on December 9 with a 4-1 loss. Evansville awaits the Gems with a 14-7-2 record and sit just a game and a half back from the streaking Fort Wayne Komets for top spot in the Turner Conference. A key for the IceMen has been their special teams play, with their powerplay ranked 2nd in the circuit at 22.8% and a third best penalty kill sitting at 84.6% coming into Tuesday night.

Thursday, December 29 - Dayton Gems vs Bloomington Blaze, 7:00pm EST (Hara Arena)

Notes: It's another "Thirsty Thursday" at Hara when the Blaze skate onto Cassano's Italian Ice for their second trip to Dayton in as many weeks. After the Gems closed out a 3-in-3 series with the Blaze on December 18 with a hard fought 6-2 win over the Blaze, Bloomington returns for the eighth meeting this season between the two clubs, and fourth time in Dayton, with the Gems earning five victories over Bloomington so far this season. The game will feature select $1 draft beers and the first 500 fans will receive a limited edition Gems player stadium cup. College students can receive 2-for-1 tickets at the box office by showing their college ID and fans who wear any college football attire can get $2 off any endzone ticket on gameday.

Friday, December 30 - Dayton Gems @ Quad City Mallards, 8:05pm EST (iWireless Center)

Notes: Dayton makes only their second trek this season to Moline, Illinois to battle the Mallards in just the fifth meeting this season. The lone previous trip to the iWireless Center came on November 4 with a come from behind 5-4 win in a home and home series that saw Dayton sweep the weekend with a 2-1 win on opening night. Since then, the Mallards have won two straight games in Dayton but have remained average at home with a .500 record inside their home rink headed into this weekend's game.

Saturday, December 31 - Dayton Gems vs Quad City Mallards, 7:00pm EST (Hara Arena)

Notes: Dayton's second annual "Biggest Family New Year's Eve Party" begins at 6pm when the gates open to fans inside the historic Hara Arena. The first 500 fans will receive a limited edition Gems cowbell to ring in the new year while the Gems battle the Mallards on Cassano's Italian Ice starting at 7pm. Fans can purchase special "Buffalo Wild Wings Party Packs" in advance of the game, which includes tickets to Saturday night's game and a 50 wing party at Buffalo Wild Wings for just $50. WEEKLY NOTES

Teddy Bear Toss - Despite a scoreless game, the Gems received hundreds of donated stuffed and plush animals as part of this year's Teddy Bear Toss last Friday night. The toys will be distributed in the coming weeks to area children in the Miami Valley.

Christmas Made Possible - Gems players and staff surprised three needing families in the area with a "Gems Christmas" including tree, decorations, presents and dinner supplies. This was the second straight year the Gems have made Christmas possible for those in need.

Good News/Bad News - Last week, the Gems battled back to win a shootout thriller 4-3 on Thursday night against the Berry Conference's Texas Brahmas, but were blanked on Friday night 4-0 by the Turner Conference's first place Fort Wayne Komets.

Dynamic Duo- Both Damian Surma (31 points) and Brett Lutes (30 points) sit near the top of the CHL's scoring leader board, while Surma leads the entire CHL in goals with 16 in his 26 games played.

Powerplay Master - Dayton's Brandon Naurato continues to lead the CHL in powerplay goals with 7 in his 24 games this season.

Saving The Day - Gems netminder Bryan Hogan sits third in the CHL's saves category with 509 saves in his 18 games played this season.
