Idaho Stampede News Release

BOISE, ID (January 10, 2003) – The Idaho Stampede will take the floor tonight against the best team in the CBA in the first of two weekend games against the Dakota Wizards. At any given point during the game, half of the National Conference's All-Star team could be on the court at the same time, as the Wizards bring their four all-stars to the Idaho Center, joining Idaho 's one selection.

The 2003 CBA All-Star Classic takes place next week in Sioux Falls, SD, and this weekend's match-up represents the last two games for the Stampede before the break.

Idaho's lone all-star representative is Brian Green, who is seventh in the league in scoring at 19.5 points per game and sixth in steals with 2.3 per game. He earned National Conference Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 1-7, as he posted 21.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. On Nov. 24, Green posted a personal season high 41 points against the Rockford Lightning.

On the Dakota side of the ball, the Wizards all-stars include Malik Dixon, Courtney James, Andy Panko and Miles Simon, who was last season's CBA regular season and playoff MVP, as well as the Newcomer of the Year and a First-Team All-Star. An Arizona Wildcat alum, Simon was the 1997 Final Four MVP as Arizona won the National Championship. Dakota head coach Dave Joerger (Yeay-ger) will also be the head coach of the National squad.

The 19th CBA All-Star game takes place on January 14. The Long-Distance Shootout and Slam Dunk Contest will both take place on January 13. Players for the game were voted on by CBA head coaches and sports writers.

Halftime entertainment for tonight and Saturday night will be high-flying and filled with action, as the High "Impact" Squad is set to amaze fans of all ages. The Squad combines incredible acrobatic stunts with basketball's slam-dunk to create what is now called "Acro-Dunking." Billed as "The Worlds Most Dynamic Sports Super Heroes", the Squad performs in colorful costumes against a backdrop of high-energy music and unfailingly brings audiences to their feet.

Catch all the live action this weekend with Mark Snider on KFXD AM-630, beginning at 7 PM with the Stampede Report. Also, follow the game live via the internet at www.cbahoopsonline.com, through our Dakstats live web-casting.
