
Riverdragons Hold Fan Activities Jan. 10-11

The Columbus Riverdragons will once again offer affordable, family entertainment on and off the court this weekend. Below, a sample of activities during the Riverdragons back-to-back home games Friday and Saturday (Jan. 10-11) at the Columbus Civic Center.
And as always tonight and tommorrow... tickets for kids 12 and under are just $5.
Year of the Uniform The Riverdragons celebrate the Year of the Uniform again this Friday.. The first 2,000 fans at the Civic Center will receive a NBDL headband. All season long, fans have the opportunity to build their own Riverdragons uniforms including shorts, socks, cap, headband, mini-ball and jersey. All-Star Opportunity
Immediately following Friday night's game, Columbus-area basketball talent will compete for spots in the finals of the Riverdragons Be An All-Star Slam Dunk Competition and the Be An All-Star 3-Point Shootout. Finalists from Friday's preliminaries will have the opportunity will win two tickets to the 2003 NBA All-Star Weekend in Atlanta. The finals for the 3-Point Shootout will be held during a quarter-break this Saturday, January 11 in between the Riverdragons match-up with the defending NBDL champion Greenville Groove. The finals for the Slam Dunk Contest will be held Martin Luther King Day, Monday, January 20 during halftime of the Riverdragons 2 p.m. meeting with Huntsville. Special group ticket packages for friends and relatives of contestants are available by calling Matt LaBranche at (706) 225-1112.
Budweiser Buckets For Bucks
Beginning Friday, fans will have the opportunity to win $10,000 in the Budweiser Buckets for Bucks contest. A fan will be selected at random for the chance to make a lay-up, free throw, three-point, and half-court shot in 24 seconds to win $10,000 courtesy of Budweiser.
Riverdragons Family Four Pack
The Riverdragons will offer the Riverdragons Family Four Pack for six selected home games over the next two months. The Riverdragons Family Four Pack delivers four game tickets, four hotdogs and four bags of chips for $40. The Riverdragons Family Four Pack is an excellent opportunity for families to enjoy the Riverdragons this holiday season. The remaining Family Four Pack dates are:

Coaches Clinic
Head coach Jeff Malone and assistant coach Rob Werdann will conduct the second annual Columbus Riverdragons Coaches Clinic Thursday, January 16, at Comer Gymnasium in Columbus. The clinic begins at 6 p.m. and is free and open to local youth basketball coaches. The Riverdragons Coaches Clinic aims each season to equip basketball coaches in the Columbus-area with skill and conditioning drills to be used in their own individual practices with local players. The Riverdragons Coaches Clinic is sponsored by Columbus Parks & Recreation and the Riverdragons. The coaches clinic will be conducted during the Riverdragons final practice before Friday's home game (Jan. 17) against N. Charleston. The Riverdragons coaching staff will break down the team's drills as they take place in practice. Coaches attending the clinic will be provided with a practice schedule including a brief description of the drills employed by the Riverdragons that evening.
Rivvy D Special
As always, the Riverdragons offer the Rivvy D Special, a $5 kid's (12 & under) ticket, good for most seats at the Civic Center. The Rivvy D Special allows children 12 & under to sit in Lower Bowl A ($16 per ticket) and Lower Bowl B ($12 per ticket) for just $5.
