(Central Islip, N.Y., July 8, 2011) - Atlantic League officials today announced that a league-high seven members of the Long Island Ducks have been selected to participate in the 2011 Atlantic League All-Star Game. Catcher J.R. House, infielder Javier Colina, outfielders Kraig Binick and Matt Esquivel, designated hitter John Rodriguez, and pitchers Mike Loree and Mike Parisi were each selected by fan, media, league official and coaching staff voting.

House earns his first Atlantic League All-Star appearance in his first season with the Ducks. The catcher has led the Ducks' pitching staff to a league-best 3.84 ERA. He's also done some damage at the plate, posting a .289 batting average with 11 homers and 45 RBI, both team-highs.

Colina makes his first All-Star appearance in his second season on Long Island. The infielder has been tremendous with the bat in 2011, compiling a .314 batting average with a team-high tying 11 home runs and 42 RBI. He is also fourth in the league in slugging percentage at .565.

Binick's first season with the Ducks has resulted in his first Atlantic League All-Star Appearance. The Hicksville native is second in the league in batting with a .364 average, first in on-base percentage at .450 and has stolen a league-high 21 bases.

Esquivel reaches his first Atlantic League All-Star Game in his fourth season of league play. Despite battling injuries, he is hitting at a .329 clip with nine home runs and 31 RBI. The Texas native will be an All-Star in a ballpark he called home for two seasons before coming to Long Island.

Rodriguez returns to the midsummer classic for a second consecutive season. Overall, he is hitting .296 with seven homers, 42 RBI, and 43 runs scored in 2011. The New York native appeared in last season's All-Star Game at the Ducks' home ballpark and participated in the Home Run Derby contest as well.

Loree makes his All-Star Game debut in his second Atlantic League season. The right-hander has been the league's best pitcher this season, leading the league in wins (10) and ERA (1.71), and ranking second in strikeouts (74). Loree has a 10-1 record overall, has won nine consecutive starts, and was named the Pitcher of the Month for June, after posting a 6-0 record with a 1.40 ERA during the month.

Parisi earns his first All-Star appearance in his first season on Long Island. The righty has been superb in the starting rotation, compiling a 5-4 record with a 3.67 ERA, which is tied for fourth in the league. The Lake Grove native is also third in the league in strikeouts (70) and innings pitched (73.2).

Willie Upshaw of the Bridgeport Bluefish will manage the Liberty Division All-Stars and Andy Etchebarren of the York Revolution will handle managing duties for the Freedom Division. The 14th Annual Atlantic League All-Star Game will be held at Sovereign Bank Stadium, the home of the Revolution, on Wednesday, July 13 at 7:00 PM.
