Crabs-Riversharks Rained Out

Southern Maryland Blue Crabs News Release


Camden, NJ - The Southern Maryland Blue Crabs series opener against the Camden Riversharks was postponed due to rain on Friday night. Rain during the day, more rain expected at night, and a swamped field forced the postponement to the opener of the first half's final series. The rainout is the first of the season for the Blue Crabs.

The teams will make up the game with a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at 4pm. Both games will be seven innings long. Game one will feature righty Virgil Vasquez (3-5, 5.07 ERA) for Southern Maryland going to the hill against southpaw J.R. Mathes (3-4, 5.35 ERA) of the Riversharks. Game two will see right-hander Nick Green (5-2, 4.61 ERA) go for the Blue Crabs versus lefty Carlos Vasquez (3-3, 4.55 ERA) for Camden. Both games can be heard on www.somdbluecrabs.com.
