
All Monsters Games to Air Live on Radio Network; Nine Also on TV

With the start of the team's seventh season in Cleveland this weekend, the Lake Erie Monsters have announced that all 76 games during the 2013-14 season will once again air live over the Monsters Radio Network. Monsters fans will also be able to watch their team on television nine times this season.
Serving as co-flagship stations for the fourth straight year, ESPN 850 WKNR and AM 1220 WHKW will each carry 38 games live beginning with the season opener on Friday. ESPN 850 WKNR has aired Monsters games since the team's inception in 2007, while Salem Communications-owned AM 1220 WHKW The Word will be airing games for the fourth season.
Additionally, for the sixth consecutive year the Monsters will partner with both FOX Sports Ohio and MY43 THE BLOCK WUAB to televise nine home games during the 2013-14 season, beginning Saturday, October 12th. All televised games are weekend dates except one and feature some of the team's biggest promotional nights of the season, including:
- Saturday, December 21st: Ugly Sweater/Specialty Jersey Night (WUAB)
- Saturday, January 25th: Cleveland Rocks Night; Frozen Frontier Jersey Night (WUAB)
- Saturday, February 8th: Special Olympics Tribute Night/Specialty Jersey night (WUAB)
- Saturday, February 22nd: Football Night; Joe Haden Bobblehead Giveaway (FSO)
- Sunday, April 13th : Pucks & Paws Day (WUAB)
- Saturday, April 19th: Fan Salute Night; Fathead Tradeable Giveaway (FSO)
FOX Sports Ohio (four games) is the official Cable and Satellite Home of the Monsters, while MY43 THE BLOCK WUAB (five games) is the official Over the Air TV Home of Monsters. All telecasts will also be simulcast live on either ESPN 850 WKNR or AM 1220 WHKW radio.
Doug Plagens returns for his third season as the Voice of the Monsters. He serves in the same capacity for the Cleveland Gladiators, Quicken Loans Arena's Arena Football League team. Plagens will be joined on television broadcasts once again by Cleveland hockey legend and Monsters assistant coach/Director of Hockey Operations & Team Services, Jock Callander, who will provide color commentary. Veteran Cleveland sports broadcaster Kenny Roda returns for his sixth season as rinkside reporter and intermission host.

The Lake Erie Monsters are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League playing at Quicken Loans Arena and the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League playing in nearby Canton, Ohio at the Canton Civic Center.
