
Aljaz "Kiki" Struna Selected by Slovenian National Team

MONTREAL - Central defender Aljaz "Kiki" Struna has been called up by the Slovenian national team ahead of the team's three upcoming FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 UEFA qualifiers.
Slovenia will first play host to Slovakia and Malta on September 1 and 4 respectively at the Stadion Stoice, before facing Croatia away on September 7 at the Stadion Poljud. With a 1-2-0 record, the Slovenians currently sit in fifth place of Group H in this first round of qualifying, behind Croatia, Russia, Slovakia and Cyprus.
Struna has been capped 21 times with the Slovenian national team thus far, having made his debut with the senior squad on March 23, 2016, in a friendly against North Macedonia. He scored his first international goal on September 6, 2019, in a 2-0 Euro 2020 qualifying game against Poland.
