Whitecaps FC Midfielder Caio Alexandre Undergoes Successful Left Foot Surgery

VANCOUVER, BC - Vancouver Whitecaps FC confirmed on Tuesday that midfielder Caio Alexandre underwent successful surgery yesterday for a fifth metatarsal fracture in his left foot. Caio Alexandre suffered the injury during the training session on August 14 and will miss the remainder of the MLS season.

"We are happy to hear that Caio's surgery was a success," said Marc Dos Santos, Whitecaps FC head coach. "He is resting now and in the coming weeks our performance team will work closely with him as we build towards a full 2022 preseason with Caio."

The 22-year old native of Duque De Caxias, Brazil joined Whitecaps FC in March. The box-to-box midfielder made 15 appearances during his abbreviated first year at the club.
