PEORIA, Ill. - The Kane County Cougars, in conjunction with the Kansas City Royals, have announced that left-handed pitcher Scott Alexander has been activated off the disabled list. Alexander left his start on May 17 against the Cedar Rapids Kernels after just three innings with an injury. He will be tonight's starting pitcher when the Cougars take on the Peoria Chiefs at O'Brien Field.
To make room for Alexander, right-handed Brooks Pounders has been promoted to Class A Advanced Wilmington in the Carolina League. Pounders was 3-2 with a 3.38 ERA in 12 appearances including eight starts for the Cougars this season.
