Northern Colorado Owlz News Release

OREM - Left fielder Alex Abbott led the way for the Orem Owlz this evening going 3-3 with two doubles and a solo blast to right field as Orem picked up the 7-4 victory. Abbott now has 29 RBI's on the season to go along with seven homeruns. First baseman Jeff Boehm got the scoring started as he hit RBI's in his first two at-bats to give the Owlz an early lead.

Defense played a pivotal role in tonight's game as third baseman Kenny Towns was all over the hot corner. He grabbed a sharp chopper in the first inning delivering a bullet to first for the out. Later in the fifth he recorded an unassisted double play, the first of the night for the Owlz. Not stopping there, he added a leaping grab off a hard hit ball by Matt Jones in the 9th.

Ronnie Glenn picked up the win, his sixth of the season going 2 and 1/3 innings while striking out 3. Overall the Owlz struck out 10 Raptors, while only giving up four earned. Jeff Malm started for Orem tonight and pitched well, giving up only three earned while striking out four in the no decision.

Jared Foster also collected three hits, picking up an RBI double off of Ogden starter Ivan Vieitez. He picked up the loss for the Raptors giving up six runs off eight hits. The victory for Orem gives them a chance to tie the series at 2-2 if they can win tomorrow night.
