Steve Zalewski scored for the second-straight game, but four unanswered goals by the Bears gave them a 4-1 win at the Times Union Center. The Devils held a 1-0 lead and a 10-5 shot advantage at different times during the first period. However, goals at 10:37 and 18:47 gave the Bears their lead. Hershey used first-period goals by Matthew Ford and Cody Eakin, a second period tally by Christian Hanson (5:57) and a third period goal by Boyd Kane (18:03) for their fourth win in five games.

Powered by four power-play goals, the Devils claimed the first game in the quest for the Time Warner Cable Cup with a 5-2 victory against the Phantoms at the Times Union Center. Eric Gelinas had two power-play goals and an assist, while Peter Harrold and Matt Anderson also scored with the man advantage. Mike Sislo opened the scoring even strength. Gelinas, Anderson, Sislo and Stephane Veilleux all had multi-point games. Anderson had a goal and two assists, Sislo had a goal and an assist and Veilleux had three assists. Jeff Frazee earned the victory with 25 saves.

Sun., Oct 23; Albany 3 at Providence 2 (Overtime)
Tim Sestito scored 12 seconds into overtime, lifting the Devils to a 3-2 win against Providence at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. Albany unloaded a season-high 38 shots en route to its second consecutive victory. Steve Zalewski opened the scoring at 5:25 of the first and Dan Kelly gave the Devils a 2-1 lead at 2:46 of the third. In his professional debut, goaltender Maxime Clermont made 28 saves on 30 shots for the victory. Providence's efforts were led by Zach Hamill who had a pair of goals.

Notables
- Against the Phantoms on Saturday, the Devils netted four power-play goals on five opportunities. It marked the first time the team had scored four or more man-advantage goals since Dec. 15, 2009. The then Lowell Devils went 5-for-9 against Springfield in a 6-1 win.
- The Devils had four players with multi-point games against the Phantoms. Eric Gelinas had two goals and an assist, while Matt Anderson had a goal and two assists. Stephane Veilleux registered a game-high three assists and Mike Sislo posted a goal and an assist.
- The Devils are winners of two straight for the first time this year and for the first time since winning three in a row between Mar. 12-16 last season.
- Albany had some transactions this past week. On Tuesday, Keith Kinkaid was recalled from loan by New Jersey, while Maxime Clermont was reassigned by New Jersey from Kalamazoo (ECHL) to Albany. On Saturday, Adam Henrique was recalled by New Jersey.
- Rookies Eric Gelinas, Mike Sislo and Joe Whitney have already tallied their first career goals. Gelinas scored twice on the power play against Adirondack on Oct. 22. Sislo's came during a penalty shot against Bridgeport on Oct. 9 and Whitney scored out of the penalty box against Connecticut on Oct. 14.
